\"\"<\/td>Albert had a caring, patient, encouraging, and joyous personality making him a natural-born teacher. He would engage his students with his humor and wit while teaching English literature. In 1971, Albert graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and was certified by the Department of Education. In 1979, he received a Master\u2019s degree in English Literature and afterwards an MA+30. He taught in the Dumont, NJ public school system from 1971 until his retirement in 2003. During his life, Albert wrote and published many short stories and articles. In 1978, Albert wrote and published a word usage game called Countdown. He was a teacher, coach and friend to his students.<\/td><\/td><\/td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Avid Sport Fisherman<\/strong><\/td><\/td><\/td><\/td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>Albert loved fishing the Ramapo River in and around Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. Later, he discovered and fell in love with fishing Otter creek in Middlebury, Vermont. With rare exception, he would catch and release. When I was young, we would fish the Passaic River for Shiners, Carp & Catfish. Albert had a great touch with the rod and reel and he instinctively knew where the big-ones fed. We were always competing and at the end of the day, one of us was trash-talking. His favorite fishing holes will remain our little secret. We shared many laughs and good times while holding fishing gear.<\/td><\/td><\/td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Generous Philanthropist<\/strong><\/td><\/td><\/td><\/td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>Albert donated generously to many charities during his life. They included William Paterson College Alumni Association, his alma mater. He gave generously to local service providers including the New Milford Fire Company #2 and the Volunteer Ambulance squad. And he gave to the National Wildlife Federation and to many medical research and hospital charities. In his final will, Albert directed that his entire estate be divided between the New Jersey Division of Fish, Game and Wildlife and the Vermont Division of Fish, Game and Wildlife. He said and I quote \u201cwhich gifts I make in recognition and gratitude for the many years I have enjoyed the natural beauty and resources of New Jersey and Vermont.\u201d<\/td><\/td><\/td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"\"<\/td>Albert was seven years older than me. One of my earliest memories of Albert was when I was 7. He took me to a park across the street from my home in Jersey City, NJ. He threw a pink Spalding ball straight up and as high as he could for me to try to catch. Then I would throw it as high as I could and Albert would catch it. This went on for hours. We had so much fun. Of course, Albert could throw the ball much higher but rather than holding back, he encouraged me to throw higher. He corrected my technique and told me one day I would throw the ball higher than him. After a few years, I proved him right. No one was happier or prouder than Albert that day.
